Beirut is preparing to welcome runners on Sunday, November 29, 2026, for the Spinneys Beirut Marathon, according to the Beirut Marathon Association. The date is also listed by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races.

The programme extends beyond the demanding 42.195-kilometre marathon. Organisers also list a half marathon, a timed 10-kilometre race, a two-kilometre youth race for children aged eight to 15, a six-kilometre Fund Run and a para-athlete race. Age requirements vary between events.

That range gives the day a wider appeal: experienced runners can pursue a finishing time, while younger participants and those choosing a shorter distance can take part in their own way.

Preparation has already brought runners onto Beirut’s roads. Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces announced traffic arrangements for a series of training sessions held during October and on November 1, organised for people preparing to participate in the annual race for the first time.

Race weekend will also require planning from residents and motorists. The association asks drivers to keep vehicles off the race route from 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, to help keep the course clear.

For participants, the next step is to choose an appropriate distance and check the organiser’s latest registration conditions, race instructions and updates. Spectators can contribute too: a familiar face or an encouraging voice can matter during the difficult final kilometres.

For one November morning, Beirut’s streets are set to become a meeting place for runners, supporters and neighbours—with every participant bringing a different reason to reach the finish line.
